Israeli regime's attack on UN guesthouses; Gaza situation catastrophic, aid running out
Pars Today - Palestinian local media reported "extensive and heavy attacks" by the Zionist regime on various areas of the Gaza Strip. The Zionist army began its ground invasion in Gaza, claiming to have occupied the central "Netzarim" axis in the Gaza Strip.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA’s Wednesday news, the Zionist army, asserting that it had launched a limited ground operation in central Gaza, claimed the goal was to expand the defensive zone and establish a dividing line between the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
Increase in the number of martyrs in Gaza
In the latest Zionist crime in the Gaza Strip, warplanes of the regime bombed residential areas east of Khan Younis, resulting in the martyrdom of 10 Palestinians and injuring many others. Palestinian media also reported that on Wednesday, the occupying regime’s fighter jets targeted a mourning ceremony in the "Al-Salatin" area of Beit Lahia, leading to the martyrdom of more than 16 people and injuring several others.
Earlier, four Palestinians, including a child, were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a tent for displaced Palestinians northwest of Khan Younis. The Gaza Strip Civil Defense Organization also announced that 70 Palestinians were martyred in the Zionist occupiers’ attacks on Wednesday, raising the total number of Palestinian martyrs from renewed airstrikes to 470.
Gaza’s situation is catastrophic, and aid is running out
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza announced on Wednesday that no aid has entered the region for over two weeks. This UN official warned that with crossings remaining closed, humanitarian aid reserves are depleting, and Gaza’s residents are experiencing "horrific" conditions.
UN emphasis on ceasefire in Gaza and release of hostages
Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the United Nations, stated on Wednesday that UN Secretary-General António Guterres, following the attack on two UN guesthouses in occupied Palestine by Israel, once again emphasized the need for a ceasefire to end the suffering of Gaza’s people, deliver humanitarian aid, and secure the unconditional release of captives. According to the UN, 280 of its staff members have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
Hamas calls for a clear global stance on the bombing of UN office in Gaza
In this regard, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the international community, the United Nations, and its affiliated institutions to take a clear and decisive stance against the Zionist regime’s crime of targeting UN agency workers in Gaza.
In a statement, the movement described the targeting of international organization employees as part of the escalating dangers of the genocide war that the Zionist regime is waging against the Palestinian people amid the deadly silence of the international community.
