Pars Today- An American doctor, who has witnessed the Israeli crimes in Gaza, likened the hospitals of the region to Hiroshima after the American atomic bombing and disclosed an unprecedented human disaster.

Among the ruins of Gaza, where hospitals are targeted with heavy bombs, Dr. Clayton Dalton, American physician, has related a shocking account of the efforts of physicians to save the lives of human beings in a totally disintegrated system. According to Pars Today, Dr. Dalton, who was present during the ceasefire in Gaza, disclosed the horrible situation of hospitals in the region in a shocking report to daily New Yorker.

Dalton likened Gaza to Hiroshima after the atomic bombing and said, "Hospitals, especially in the north of Gaza, have been completely destroyed due to the Israeli military attacks."

When entering Khan Younis with a medical team, he visited Nasser and Kamal Adwan hospitals both of which had been intensively ruined. He was witness to the efforts of physicians during inhuman conditions, without adequate equipment and even power, to save patients.

Clayton Dalton explained that Al-Shafa hospital, the largest medical center in Gaza, has become totally out of service and mass graves have been made around it. Dalton spoke of painful surgeries without anesthesia, amputation due to lack of facilities and using banned weapons by Israel.

According to him, %84 of hospitals in Gaza have been hit by 2000-pound bombs in spite of Israel's claim of observing international rules and protection of civilians.

This American physician also reported of the situation of wounded children, such as a 9-year girl whose arm had been cut, and the aid-workers who collected the bodies of children. Moreover, Dalton referred to Israel's blocking the entry of humanitarian assistance and medical equipment to Gaza.

He stressed that the Israeli claims of military targets in hospitals is totally baseless and no evidence or document has been presented of the presence of Hamas forces in these centers. Dalton considered the situation as a clear example of violation of the Geneva Convention and was astounded with the global silence towards this catastrophe.
