Pars Today – The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that over 7,000 Palestinian students have been martyred by the Israeli regime in 2025.
The Israeli regime launched its war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, with two main objectives: destroying the Hamas movement and retrieving Israeli captives from the region. However, it failed to achieve these goals and was forced to reach an agreement with Hamas for a prisoner exchange.
According to the Pars Today report, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, 7,488 students were martyred and 10,557 others injured in attacks by the Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The majority of the casualties occurred in Gaza, while in the West Bank, 38 students were killed and 324 others arrested by Israeli forces.
These figures highlight the devastating scale of the assaults on the education system and the systematic targeting of Palestinian schools and universities.
In addition to students, educational staff have also been targeted. So far, 415 teachers and administrative personnelin the Gaza Strip and the West Bank have been martyred, 912 injured, and more than 48 detained in the West Bank.
The report further states that in 2025, the Israeli occupation army has deliberately attacked higher education institutions, including Birzeit University, Al-Quds University, Hebron University, and the Palestine Polytechnic University.
Several schools known as “Schools of Resistance” (Tahaddi)—including Shalal Al-Ouja, Khillat Amira, Badu Al-Ka’abneh, Khillat Al-Dabaa, and Yanoun—have also suffered destruction and military attacks, becoming direct targets of the aggression.
