Pars Today – A leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement threatened to completely close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait to international shipping due to U.S. policies in the region.

According to Pars Today, Hussein al-Ezzi, a leader of Ansarullah, emphasized the movement’s ability to enforce a closure of the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait in a way that makes passage impossible. He called on the U.S. government and the international community to change their policies regarding Yemeni and regional issues.

Hussein al-Ezzi stated: “If this movement decides to close Bab-el-Mandeb, the enemy will be completely unable to open it.”

Al-Ezzi added: It is better for Trump and the world that is complicit with him to immediately end all actions and policies that hinder peace and to show the necessary respect for the rights of our nation and our Ummah.

Hussein al-Ezzi’s remarks follow Iran’s announcement that it will close the Strait of Hormuz starting Saturday until the U.S. blockade is lifted, threatening to target any ships that approach the strait.
