UN: Israel has displaced 40,000 Palestinians in West Bank
Pars Today – The Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary‑General announced that since the beginning of 2025, Israel has displaced around 40,000 Palestinian citizens in various areas of the West Bank.
According to the website Al‑Araby Al‑Jadeed, Farhan Haq, the Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary‑General, stated that the demolition of Palestinian homes by Israeli settlers in the West Bank during the first week of May displaced 42 Palestinians, including 24 children.
Haq added that since the beginning of last year, nearly 40,000 people across the West Bank have been displaced as a result of actions carried out by Israel.
He stressed that Israeli army forces and armed settlers backed by them continue their attacks on Palestinians and their property across all cities of the West Bank without interruption.
The West Bank, including the eastern part of occupied al-Quds, has witnessed an escalation of Israeli military operations, including raids, arrests, and shootings, as well as an increase in attacks by settlers against Palestinians and their property.
According to official Palestinian statistics, since October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank have resulted in the martyrdom of at least 1,155 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 11,750 others, and the arrest of close to 22,000 people.
