Yemeni scholars: Real threat to Mecca is US bases in region

Pars Today – Yemeni scholars have strongly rejected and condemned claims by the Saudi regime that Mecca and Medina, the two holy mosques, have been targeted.

According to Pars Today, the Yemeni scholars said in a statement that Saudi Arabia’s claims about targeting Mecca and Medina are completely baseless, false and without any credibility. They described the allegations as fabrications by the Saudi propaganda apparatus aimed at tarnishing the image of the Yemeni Muslim people and their legitimate resistance.

The statement said the allegations were nothing more than slander and accusations made by a regime known for lying and fabricating claims. The Yemeni scholars stressed that the record of the Saudi regime’s crimes against the Yemeni people and the Muslim community is marked by aggression, siege, instilling fear and stoking discord, adding that this latest allegation is another addition to its record of crimes.

Warning to Countries Supporting Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni scholars warned any country against joining aggression against the Yemeni people, saying that the Saudi regime commits crimes against Mecca, Medina and holy sites and then attributes them to the Yemeni people.

They described this tactic as an attempt to provide a valuable opportunity for the Zionist enemy and foment conflict and confrontation among Muslims.

Condemnation of Saudi Exploitation of the Two Holy Mosques

Yemeni scholars condemned the Saudi regime’s exploitation of the Two Holy Mosques in the service of colonial objectives, describing it as part of efforts to weaken the Muslim world and gain control over Muslims’ wealth. They firmly rejected such exploitation, stressing that defending Islamic holy sites is the responsibility of all Muslims, with the Yemeni people at the forefront.

In this regard, the Yemeni scholars pointed to the situation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is under pressure and occupation by the usurping Zionist regime, and stressed the need to pay attention to this important issue facing the Muslim world.

Foiling Media Conspiracies

The Yemeni scholars stressed that the Saudi regime’s repeated and defamatory efforts to undermine the Yemeni people’s resistance, like its previous attempts, are doomed to fail. They cited verses from the Holy Quran, saying that God has promised to reveal the truthfulness of the honest and expose the liars.

Appeal to the Free People of the World

The Yemeni scholars also called on all free people around the world, as well as Muslim scholars and leaders of Islamic countries, to stand with the oppressed Yemeni people and not fall into the trap of the Saudi regime’s false media propaganda. They noted that the falsehood of such claims was also exposed during the events in Gaza.

Criticism of Passive Positions

The Yemeni scholars criticized some academic and religious institutions and prominent figures for adopting passive positions toward the Saudi regime’s crimes against the Yemeni people. They said these individuals should have raised their voices in support of the Yemeni people and should not have remained silent in the face of the Saudi regime’s war crimes.

Praise for the Positions of Muslim World Scholars

In another part of the statement, the Yemeni scholars praised the courageous positions taken by some scholars in the Muslim world, including the muftis of the Sultanate of Oman and the muftis of Bali. They called on all Muslim scholars and Islamic institutions, including Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the International Union of Muslim Scholars, to work to end the aggression and siege against Yemen and not fall into the trap of provocative calls aimed at tarnishing the image of the Yemeni people.

Call to Visit Yemen

The Yemeni scholars invited all scholars and figures from across the Muslim world to visit Yemen and witness firsthand the crimes of Saudi aggression, the effects of the blockade and the direct killings of the Yemeni people. They also called on scholars to fulfill their duty regarding what is happening in Gaza, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Iran, and to show concern for Islamic holy sites.

Real Threat to the Two Holy Mosques

The Yemeni scholars stressed that the real threat to Mecca, Medina and the Holy Kaaba comes from US military bases in the West and the occupied territories. They pointed to the opening of Saudi Arabia’s airspace to Zionist aircraft and the transfer of security management of the holy sites and hotels for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to Zionist companies, describing these actions as a betrayal of Islamic holy sites.

Congratulations on Yemen’s Victories

The Yemeni scholars congratulated the Yemeni people on their major victories and strategic achievements on the western coast and in other areas, describing them as a victory for Palestine and the entire Muslim ummah. They called on the Yemeni people to work toward liberating every inch of Yemeni territory by expressing gratitude, seeking forgiveness, avoiding self-conceit and arrogance, and strengthening resilience while mobilizing forces and resources.

Support for Yemen’s Armed Forces

The Yemeni scholars called for supporting the military industries, joining general mobilization courses and military training and empowerment centers. They praised the major achievements of Yemen’s missile force, drone force, air defense, naval forces and all of the country’s military formations. They also commended the role of Yemen’s tribes in defending the country’s land, honor, dignity and integrity.

Support for the Palestinian Cause

The Yemeni scholars also stressed the Yemeni people’s steadfast position on the central cause of the Muslim ummah, namely Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and praised the positions taken by Iran, Lebanon and Syria on the issue.
