Iranian defense minister felicitates Syrian counterpart on Aleppo victory

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan in a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Lieutenant General Fahd Jassim al-Freij on Wednesday felicitated the Syrian army's victory in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria.

"I felicitate you, the Syrian government and nation on the occasion of the recent victories of the Syrian army and resistance forces and the seizing back of the Aleppo city from the Takfiri terrorists' control; it is a turning point in the resistance front's campaign against terrorism and extremism," Brigadier General Dehqan said over phone.

The Syrian defense minister, for his part, thanked the Iranian leadership, government and nation for supporting the Syrian army and nations in fighting terrorism.

The two sides also underlined their countries' firm determination to fight terrorism and extremism.

The Syrian Army's victories in eastern Aleppo finally forced terrorist groups to leave the war-torn city as Jeish Al-Fatah terrorists are now encircled in a very small area left with the only two options of surrender or die, as the terrorist groups in eastern Aleppo asked the Syrian army to allow them leave the city for Idlib.

The fighting in eastern Aleppo has also stopped and the Syrian government has regained control over the territory.
