The Leader's top aide Ali Akbar Velayati has voiced regret over the recent visit of US President Donald Trump to Riyadh, and said that Saudi Arabia is supporting a fake version of Islam.

"The recent developments in Saudi Arabia are true examples of American Islam," Velayati said.

The senior aide on international affairs to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei underlined that the recent efforts by Saudi Arabia are true realizations of “American Islam” as predicted by late Imam Khomeini, the Father of the Islamic Revolution.

"Mr. Trump just acted like a wanderer to save the failed economy of the US," he added.

In relevant remarks on Sunday, Velayati underlined that the main goal of US President's visit to Saudi Arabia is collecting money for his country's bankrupt economy.
