Over 26,000 Syria’s Kurdish fighters killed, captured by Turkey

Over 26,000 Kurdish gunmen have been killed or held captive since the start of the Turkish Army operation in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo on January 20, the Turkish Army General Staff announced in a statement on Sunday.

The General Staff announced that 2,612 Kurdish fighters have been killed or captured in Turkey's Olive Branch Operation in Afrin region.

Earlier reports said that the Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed militants continued Olive Branch Operation against the Kurds and captured more villages in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo.

The Turkish Army men and their allied militants stormed the Kurdish fighters' positions and captured the village of Ba'adanli in Western Afrin.

The forces of the Olive Branch Operation further captured the villages of Jaman, Shamanli, Samanli, Kerkinli and a part of Mount Bafiloun in Shera region.

Also, the Army units and allied militants managed to drive the Kurdish fighters out of the villages of al-Ramadiyah and Jamlik in Jandaris region, cutting off a road that connects the villages to the town of Afrin.
