Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has arrived in Ankara at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Five-hundred Mercedes-Benz cars and a personal toilet were reportedly among Salman’s demands for partaking in the trip.

Erdogan officially welcomed Salman after he arrived in Ankara on Monday following a five-day visit to Egypt. The Saudi king and his entourage will stay in a fully reserved five-star hotel.

“Sixteen trucks delivered food, linens and even a personal toilet for the Saudi leader to the hotel. The king will live on a separate floor in the best rooms and will be served by his own people,” said a report published by the Sputnik news agency on Monday.

Unprecedented security measures were also implemented in the hotel for the Saudi king’s arrival. All of the hotel’s windows were replaced with bulletproof glass, and a bombproof concrete wall was erected in front of the hotel’s entrance.

In order to provide the required number of cars for Salman and his cortege, the Turkish government was forced to acquire vehicles from Istanbul and Antalya.

Salman is scheduled to stay in Ankara until Wednesday and discuss bilateral relations and problems with Erdogan. He will then travel to Istanbul to take part in the 13th annual summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation which will be hosted by the Turkish president on Thursday.
