Turkish military convoy heads in direction of Syrian border

A convoy of Turkish military trucks passed by the town of Islahiye on Wednesday, heading in the direction of the Syrian border.

According to Press TV, the convoy follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's announcement, made on December 12, that a new operation against the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) east of the Euphrates would be launched within the next "few days."  

Erdogan claims the YPG threatens Turkish national security.
