American economist: Dollar, an offensive weapon rather than currency of exchange
Pars Today- American economist and public policy analyst, explained the reason for not using dollar as a payment mechanism.
Jeffery Sachs, American economist, said at the session of ministers of finance and governors of central banks of BRICS member states, "The US government, instead of using dollar as an exchange or reserve currency, has turned it into a weapon." According to Pars Today, referring to freezing the properties of Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Afghanistan and other countries by the US government, Sachs stressed that turning dollar into a weapon has been done through these measures.
This American economist made it clear that when a president can personally sign orders and seize billions of dollars of different countries' properties, you cannot use dollar as a payment mechanism. As a result, the US money has turned into an instrument in the form of political aggression.
He added, "Countries need payment mechanisms other than dollar. We need some rapid and special bodies where dollar is not involved; bodies which are not directly boycotted."
Sachs, as the President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, stressed, "The measures of the US are totally incorrect and illegal according to the standards of international rights and the UN Charter."
