New nuclear power plant in Iran with Russian cooperation

Pars Today – The CEO of Russia's Rosatom has announced the start of negotiations with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the construction of a new nuclear power plant.

Alexey Likhachev, the CEO of Rosatom, stated that Tehran and Moscow will cooperate on the construction of both small and large nuclear power plants. He mentioned that negotiations for constructing another large nuclear power plant in Iran will begin soon.

According to Pars Today, the CEO of Rosatom added that the agreements related to the construction of the new nuclear power plant have been sent to Iranian officials. 

The announcement of negotiations for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Iran comes as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, emphasized the strengthening of Iran-Russia cooperation in all security, cultural, and commercial fields during their meeting at the Kremlin on Friday.

They also highlighted the implementation of the Tehran-Moscow agreement to construct a new nuclear power plant in Iran. 

The Russian President expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with the Iranian President, describing the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between the two countries as a means to enhance bilateral economic cooperation and an opportunity to expand relations in all dimensions.
