Pars Today – While Russia and the United States were engaged in their geopolitical games in Alaska, captivating global attention, a far more serious scene was unfolding in Gaza, away from the spotlight and in silence.

Algeria's Expression newspaper wrote in an article on Monday: Gaza is experiencing a siege, destruction, and a humanitarian crisis that has so far failed to attract serious global attention. European leaders, preoccupied only with their own interests, were intently following the meeting between the presidents of the United States and Russia.

According to Pars Today, in reality, this meeting provided Germany with an opportunity to continue its military rebuilding, and France with a cover for its internal problems. Britain, too, played its perennial role as the loyal partner of the United States, even if that means encouraging a war that benefits American arms dealers. In the midst of this, it is the people of Europe who will bear the cost of these policies.

What is certain is that Trump is also trying to achieve his long-held dream of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize—assuming this award still holds any meaning. In truth, the peace prize ought to be sought in the rubble-strewn alleys of Gaza, in the shallow breaths of a child dying of hunger, in the ashes of a bombed hospital, and in the stifled cries of an abandoned nation.

In Gaza, a genocide is slowly unfolding. When human dignity is trampled for economic gain, or when warmongers are welcomed over grieving mothers, peace loses all meaning.

Every nation has the right to resist occupation, injustice, and violence. So why is this right denied to the Palestinians? Why must their lives be deemed less valuable? Why must the elderly, women, and especially the children of Gaza die in the silence of the powerful, as if they were born on the wrong side of history?

Saving Gaza is not about siding with a faction or a country—it is about saving the very concept of justice, protecting children, preserving human dignity, and confronting oppression. Those who, from any position in society, see, hear, and know—yet remain silent—bear responsibility. Silence in the face of atrocities is, in effect, an endorsement of their continuation, and turning a blind eye to injustice paves the way for it. One day, history will ask us where we stood in the face of all this oppression, and we will no longer be able to answer, “I did not know.”
