Pars Today – Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff emphasized that art is not merely a reflection of reality but also a weapon to counter the distortions and lies propagated by mainstream media.
Carlos Latuff, the Brazilian cartoonist and caricaturist, who has created numerous works during events such as the Zionist regime’s attacks on the innocent people of Palestine and Gaza, is regarded as one of the most active artists on the theme of resistance.
His works carry anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, anti-globalization, anti-capitalist, and anti-oppression messages, and they often focus on the struggles and resistance of the oppressed people of Gaza as well as on the covert policies of the United States and Zionists.
According to Pars Today, Latuff, in an interview with Mehr News Agency, spoke about the role of artists in the face of imposed wars, cultural colonialism, and soft power.
In this interview, he emphasized that art is not merely a reflection of reality but a weapon to counter the distortion and lies spread by mainstream media. Latuff believes that art should serve as a tool for resistance, raising awareness, and combating the falsehoods created by global powers.
Shining of an Iranian short film at a U.S. festival
The short film Rami won the award for Best Cinematography, granted to Kasra Tirsahar, at the Accolade Global Film Competition in the United States.
This festival, launched in 2003 and listed by MovieMaker magazine among the “25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee,” is regarded as one of the leading international events in the field of short films. Many past winners of this competition have subsequently gone on to receive prestigious awards such as the Oscars and the Emmys.
