Pars Today – The Iranian film Sheep won an award at the World Cinema Festival in the United States.
According to Pars Today, the 11th World Cinema Film Festival in Los Angeles, USA, has concluded, and the Iranian film Sheep, directed by Hadi Babaeifar, received the second prize for Best Short Film at the festival.
The film tells the story of a young girl who learns that a sheep is going to be slaughtered for a ceremony. In her childlike world, she decides to save the sheep.
14 films compete in the International Competition at Fajr Global Film Festival in Iran
In other news, the 43rd Fajr Global Film Festival will be held from November 26 to December 3 in Shiraz, southern Iran. Fourteen films will compete in the International Competition section. With the participation of both Iranian and foreign filmmakers, these works will offer audiences a diverse perspective on contemporary cinema in Iran and around the world.
Palestinian film “Palestine 36” shines at Asia World Film Festival
Meanwhile, the Palestinian film Palestine 36, directed by Ann Marie Jaser, won the Jury Special Award at the Asia World Film Festival (AWFF), known as the Snow Leopard Award.
This year, the festival featured 46 feature films and 27 short films from over 30 countries across Asia and beyond, focusing on cultural resilience, personal struggle, and social change. Palestine 36 depicts the 1936 Arab uprising against the British colonial rule in Palestine.
