Trump backs down again
Pars Today – The President of the United States once again called off what he described as a planned military attack against Iran on Monday night.
According to Pars Today, Donald Trump claimed that this time he halted military action against Iran at the request of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, on the grounds that serious negotiations with Iran were underway.
The U.S. President justified the decision by stating that Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had asked him to postpone the “planned military strike” against the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to ongoing serious diplomatic talks.
Trump added that, in his view, regional leaders and major allies believe an agreement could be reached that would be highly acceptable to the United States as well as to all countries in West Asia and beyond.
The U.S. president further claimed that any potential agreement with Iran would include preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, despite Iran having stated that it is not negotiating on nuclear issues at this stage.
According to the report, Donald Trump has since the beginning of his campaign of pressure against Iran set five separate deadlines to meet his demands. In each case, after Iran did not comply, he withdrew from his threats just hours before the deadlines expired, citing various justifications.
