Pars Today – The UK prime minister’s decision to approve U.S. use of British bases amid the war against Iran has triggered a wave of criticism and political divisions, with growing calls for an immediate parliamentary vote.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the UK government’s approval for the United States to use British bases against Iran—under what has been described as “collective defense”—has drawn sharp reactions from political parties and figures in London.

The Liberal Democrats and Liz Saville Roberts of Plaid Cymru have called for a parliamentary vote on the decision by Keir Starmer.

Roberts warned that the move “risks dragging the UK into a highly dangerous escalation.” Calum Miller, the Liberal Democrats’ foreign affairs spokesperson, also criticized the approach, stating: “We have warned from the outset that the UK must avoid being drawn into another war in West Asia with no clear end.”

He added: “This decision by the prime minister is reminiscent of the disaster of the Iraq War and shows how the country is moving along a slippery path toward further escalation.”

Polls in the United Kingdom indicate that a majority of the public opposes the military actions by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran.
