Pars Today – The U.S. attempt to have two destroyers, the USS Frank Peterson and the USS Michael Murphy, pass through the Strait of Hormuz and to exploit the ceasefire conditions has turned into an unsuccessful publicity operation.

According to Pars Today, based on reliable information from Press TV quoting a senior Iranian military official, the U.S. effort yesterday (Saturday) to send the two destroyers Frank Peterson and Michael Murphy through the Strait of Hormuz turned into a failed media operation.

Press TV’s investigation indicates that the objective behind the destroyers’ attempted passage was to take advantage of the ceasefire in order to fabricate a false achievement regarding passage through the Strait of Hormuz on one hand, and to influence the Islamabad negotiations on the other.

According to the Press TV investigation, the attempt by the Peterson and Murphy destroyers was described as a highly risky move that could have resulted in a disaster for the United States.
