FIFA welcomes Iran’s participation in 2026 FIFA World Cup

Pars Today – The president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) welcomed the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to IRNA, with 32 days remaining until the start of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared a post on Sunday about Iran’s national football team taking part in the tournament.
In the post, he shared images of captain Mehdi Taremi, a meeting with the head of the federation, Iran’s three goals in the 2022 World Cup scored by Taremi, Roozbeh Cheshmi, and Ramin Rezaeian, a supporter wearing glasses decorated with the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a team photo from Iran’s qualifying match against the UAE, and celebrations of the team’s qualification for the World Cup.
In his message, Infantino wrote: “I wish Iran the very best as they embark on their fourth successive FIFA World Cup campaign.”
