China rejects US request to stop buying oil from Iran

Pars Today — Donald Trump has said that the Chinese president is willing to buy oil from Iran.
According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump, who is visiting China, said in an interview with Fox News on Thursday that Beijing is willing to continue purchasing oil from Iran.
The U.S. president stated: “Xi Jinping said that he does not intend to provide military equipment to Iran. That is important. But at the same time, he said they are buying large amounts of oil from there (Iran) and would like to continue doing so.”
According to a Reuters report citing oil tanker tracking company Vortexa, China set a record for oil imports from Iran in March 2026, with imports reaching 1.8 million barrels per day.
