Pars Today — China’s Foreign Ministry, while supporting a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, has emphasized that a war between the two countries should never have started and that there is no reason for continuing the war against Iran.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday regarding Beijing’s position on the U.S. war against Iran: “This war should never have happened in the first place, and its continuation serves no purpose.”
The spokesperson added: “Finding an early solution to resolve this situation is in the interest of the countries of the region and the rest of the world.”
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson called for efforts to preserve the momentum toward de-escalation and to pursue a political agreement through dialogue and consultation in order to reach a settlement on Iran’s nuclear issue.
The spokesperson further stated: “It is important to immediately achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, restore peace and stability to the West Asia and Persian Gulf region, and lay the groundwork for establishing a sustainable regional security architecture.”
