Pars Today – Many Americans believe that the unpredictability of Donald Trump’s behavior has led to a lack of trust in him.

According to Pars Today, citing Fars News Agency, Donald Trump is among U.S. politicians who has repeatedly used the term “madman” to describe himself and has even expressed pride in it. During a 2018 dinner, while discussing negotiations with North Korea, he referred to himself as a “madman.”

The report adds that during the 2024 election campaign, he also claimed that the Chinese president respected him because of his “madness.”

However, this pattern of behavior has reportedly created an image of instability, with repeated policy reversals making it difficult for allies to trust him. Even his partners, according to The Atlantic, are often unsure which of his statements or actions can actually be relied upon.

The report further claims that Donald Trump allegedly attacked Iran twice during ongoing negotiations, which has reportedly increased distrust toward him among both allies and Iranian public opinion.

It adds that Trump had previously requested allied support to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but these requests were rejected.

According to the report, this “unreliable” behavior is cited as one of the key reasons why allies have avoided entering a war against Iran, with many European actors stating that “this is not their war.”

Experts argue that what was once described as Trump’s “unpredictability” has now evolved into “instability and uncertainty.” The Atlantic is also cited as noting concerns among foreign officials about sharp shifts in U.S. foreign policy, highlighting a significant gap between official U.S. government positions and Donald Trump’s statements on social media.
