Sanders opposes Netanyahu’s new ploy to secure U.S. military aid

Pars Today – An independent senator from the U.S. state of Vermont has announced that he will oppose a bill currently under consideration in Congress, which he says would increase Israeli influence within the U.S. military-industrial complex.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB news agency, Bernie Sanders wrote on the social media platform X on Sunday that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu knows that Americans are tired of funding Israel’s wars.

He said that means MORE U.S. tax dollars for Israel, with even LESS oversight. Sanders warned that this proposal—presented by Netanyahu as a reduction in U.S. aid—would in practice result in more American taxpayer money being directed to Israel.

He emphasized: “Not gonna happen!!”

It is reported that the provision, which has been included in the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act, has also faced opposition from Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie.
