Pars Today – Reactions in the U.S. Congress to the Tehran-Washington Memorandum of Understanding continue. Democrats consider it a good deal for Iran and continue to blame Donald Trump for the war.

According to Pars Today, quoting IRIB News Agency, several Democratic senators have once again criticized the aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, stating that this interim agreement is a good deal for Iran, but not for the United States.

Elizabeth Warren, Senator from Massachusetts, told reporters at the Capitol on Wednesday: "I understand how the Iranians come out as winners in this memorandum of understanding, but I really don't see how this agreement helps even a single American family. President Trump was never able to explain why we entered this war, but its costs have become fully apparent."

According to CNN, Adam Schiff, Democratic Senator from California, also told reporters that this is not a good agreement for the United States. He said: "This looks like a great deal for Iran and a terrible deal for the United States of America. It's an agreement to reach an agreement in the future, but it doesn't create much incentive for Iran to actually agree to those terms."

Mark Warner, the senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, also told reporters: "I'm glad the president is going to declare victory, because this war has been a disaster in terms of the costs imposed on Americans. I think people will look back at this war in the future and say that this was a war of choice that was a disaster, and that America today is weaker than it was before the war began."

Bill Cassidy, a Republican senator who lost last month after Donald Trump supported a rival in the primary election, also said: "This is the worst foreign policy mistake in recent decades." He added: "Before the war, the Strait of Hormuz was open, Iran was under sanctions pressure, and 13 service members were still alive. Now 13 Americans have been killed, families have paid billions of dollars in fuel costs, sanctions will be lifted, and the bombing has stopped. This is the worst foreign policy mistake in recent decades."

Ben Shapiro, an analyst for the American network Fox News, also said: "This memorandum appears to be a disaster that fails to achieve any of the main objectives set by the U.S. government at the outset of the war."
