Pars Today – American and European media, with extensive coverage of the news of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States, have focused on topics including the end of hostilities, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the reduction or lifting of some sanctions, the commencement of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, and the economic implications of this understanding for global energy markets.

According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, CNN reported that Iran and the United States signed the printed version of the Memorandum of Understanding, stating that the MoU was signed with the aim of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting sanctions on Iran, and implementing other provisions of the agreement. The network added that U.S. President Donald Trump signed a copy of the agreement at the Palace of Versailles in France, and after sending an image of the signed document to Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also signed it. According to CNN, Trump said while signing the agreement: "This was not easy."

The Associated Press described the understanding as a preliminary agreement to end the war, and quoting Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan's Prime Minister who played a role in the mediation process, wrote that following the signing by the leaders of the two countries, the Memorandum of Understanding would take immediate effect. The American outlet also noted that the agreement includes a permanent end to hostilities and the start of a 60-day period for negotiating a final agreement on the future of Iran's nuclear program.

The news site Axios, under the headline "U.S. and Iran Sign Agreement Ahead of Schedule," wrote that the Memorandum of Understanding to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz is now in effect. Citing U.S. officials, the outlet reported that the signing of the agreement was scheduled for Friday in Switzerland, but consultations were held to expedite the signing and implementation, and the agreement was ultimately signed earlier than the announced schedule.

The Financial Times, in its coverage of the news, focused on the economic dimensions of the agreement and wrote that Trump has committed to releasing part of Iran's blocked assets and reducing sanctions. The newspaper also reported, quoting Shehbaz Sharif, that under the Memorandum of Understanding, Iran would quickly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States would lift its naval blockade. Referring to the importance of the Strait of Hormuz in the transit of approximately 20% of the world's oil, the Financial Times wrote that oil prices have fallen following the agreement.

The Guardian introduced the 14-article understanding as an agreement that, according to Trump, prevented a "global recession." The newspaper wrote that senior U.S. officials have described the agreement as a "major victory," although it includes significant political and financial concessions to Iran. The Guardian also reported that Trump, while acknowledging Iran's right to enrich uranium for civilian purposes, declared that he would not pressure Tehran to abandon its ballistic missile program, and that the United States would be compelled to return billions of dollars of Iran's blocked assets.
