Pars Today – The British newspaper The Guardian reported that the funeral of Iran’s martyred Leader was a display of resistance and a call for revenge.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, began in Tehran with massive public participation. Thousands gathered around the Grand Mosalla of Tehran from Friday night and entered the venue early Saturday morning.

The streets surrounding the Mosalla were filled with crowds from the early hours of the morning. Participants attended the ceremony carrying flags and religious symbols, in an atmosphere described as a mix of mourning and anger.

It is expected that up to 30 million people will take part in various memorial ceremonies over six days.

The Guardian described the farewell ceremony for Iran’s martyred Leader as a demonstration of the strength and resilience of the Islamic Republic against the United States and Israel, adding that mourners chanted slogans calling for “revenge” against those responsible for recent crimes.
