Trump angered by victory of pro-Palestinian candidate in Michigan
Pars Today – U.S. President Donald Trump reacted angrily to the victory of a pro-Palestinian candidate in the Democratic Party primary election in Michigan, claiming: “It was not expected that he would perform so well.”
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Trump expressed his frustration over Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in the Democratic primary by posting a message on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In the post, Trump wrote: “Good news for the Republican Party. El-Sayed, a communist loser who hates Jews and Israel, is the predicted winner over the socialists.”
Claiming that publicly released polling results have been unfavorable to him, Trump added: “He wasn’t expected to do this well. Now the Democrats’ crazy policies will only get worse!”
Abdul El-Sayed won the Democratic primary election for the U.S. Senate seat in the state of Michigan.
NBC reported that despite tens of millions of dollars being spent by groups supporting Israel during the campaign, El-Sayed succeeded in defeating his opponent.
According to the report, Tuesday’s election result dealt a major blow to the pro-Israel lobbying group American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in the United States. The lobby, which led efforts to defeat the pro-Palestinian candidate, spent more than $30 million backing his opponent, Haley Stevens.
