Martyr Soleimani in the words of the Leader of Islamic Revolution

Martyr Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, as a devout follower of the Prophet and the Infallible Ahl al-Bayt (peace upon them), firmly tread the path of the Immortal Martyr of Karbala, Imam Husain (AS), in compliance with the directives of the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), and his worthy successor, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

He made selfless and relentless efforts for maintenance of the security and stability of not just his homeland Iran, but also of the neighbouring countries, foiling the terroristic plots of the US, the illegal Zionist entity, reactionary regimes, and their murderous mercenaries of hue and colour, through his political prudence, coupled with brilliant military strategy. His enemies were thus hell-bent on his assassination over the past few years, while Haaj Qassem as he was popularly known, dauntlessly strove on the straight and unwavering path of God, confident of achieving martyrdom one day, as he finally attained in Baghdad, Iraq, in the early morning hours Friday, January 3, when the criminal and cowardly president of the U.S., Donald Trump, unmanly ordered his murder by transgressing the sovereignty of Iraq and violating international laws.

Martyrdom is the goal of the righteous. It is both a physical and spiritual glory of a truly believer. As we said earlier, Martyr Qassem Soleimani was one of the true followers of the Immortal Martyr of Karbala, Imam Husain (AS), in the contemporary era. He was a source of inspiration and hope for the people of Iran and the region during their times of difficulty and in their struggle to remain free and independent from the plots and aggressions of the American hegemon, and its devilish minions, the Zionists, the reactionary regimes, and the macabrely murderous terrorists, such as the Takfiri outfits, especially Daesh. He was a selfless Islamic combatant, who wholeheartedly engaged in Jihad, or striving in the path of God, for four decades.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution in his message on the martyrdom of this heroic figure, remarked: Years of selfless and courageous Jihad on the battlefields against the devils in human form, and years of longing for martyrdom for the sake of God, finally led Dear Soleimani to exalted status of martyrdom.

He had mastered the arts and tactics of the battlefields during the 8-year war which the U.S. had imposed on the newly founded Islamic Republic of Iran in the 1980s, and according to his comrades of the Holy Defence era, he maintained his faith in God and remained calm and peaceful in the most difficult times at the warfronts.

When Global Arrogance schemed to create Takfiristan from the headwaters of the Persian Gulf to the Levantine coast of the Mediterranean Sea, it was General Qassemi’s defence of Islamic and humanitarian values in Syria and in Iraq, which foiled this intricate plot by crushing the Daesh terrorists, despite the American military help to these enemies of humanity. He thus thwarted the U.S. design to disintegrate West Asia and dominate its oil, gas, water, and other rich resources, a factor that infuriated the US regime, whose malicious plots were shattered into pieces by the selfless and courageous efforts of Martyr Soleimani.

Haaj Qassem Soleimani put a stop to the horrific crimes against humanity in Syria and Iraq of the Daesh terrorists, who had cruelly tortured and killed hundreds of thousands of people, including innocent children before the very eyes of their parents; beheaded men in front of their families; and raped young girls and even middle aged women. Trained and armed by the Americans, the Daesh terrorist outfit has always been intent to stir chaos and unrests in the region in the interests of their masters in Washington, who though claiming to be advocates of democracy, mercilessly trample all democratic and humanitarian values.

It is to be noted that three years ago in 2017, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a letter to General Qassem Soleimani, following the destruction of the Daesh terrorist outfit, had said: I am wholeheartedly grateful to God that thanks to your selfless efforts and those of the forces you lead, a divine blessing was bestowed upon us, and these terrorists were weeded out from Syria and Iraq. This was not just the death blow to the ruthless Daesh terrorists, it was a blow to both present and previous U.S. administrations and their stooges in the region, who had funded this terrorist outfit to enable the usurper Zionist regime to dominate West Asia. By destroying this malignant and deadly tumor, you served regional countries, the Islamic Ummah, all world nations, and the entire mankind.

Martyr Qassem Soleimani was the first commander after the Islamic Revolution to receive the Zolfaqar Medal, the military’s highest medal of honour, from the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He had also been awarded three Fath Medals of Honour.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei during his awarding of the Zolfaqar Medal to General Soleimani last year, had remarked at the ceremony: “Whatever we have at our disposal; whether it is expression of gratitude in words or in practice, or the medals which we grant, are all based on worldly calculations; however, when it comes to spiritual aspects for your selfless courage, divine rewards cannot be enumerated. Thank God, all of you have made these courageous efforts. God Almighty has granted divine blessing to our dear brother, Mr. Soleimani. He has on several occasions endangered his life, through his personal presence on the battlefields against the enemies. He has made selfless efforts for the sake of God. May God Almighty bless him and fulfill his wish of attaining martyrdom. The Islamic Republic of Iran needs his selfless efforts for many years to come. May God ultimately grant him the elevated status of martyrdom he desires!

The Leader of Islamic Revolution, who was much impressed by Martyr Soleimani’s faith and heroic efforts, termed his martyrdom as "bitter", while warning the enemies of a tough revenge. He named Martyr Soleimani as an exemplary Muslim and follower of the school of thought of the Founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, the late Imam Khomeini (RA), who spent his entire life in Jihad or striving sincerely in the way of God.

Martyr Soleimani also considered himself as a soldier of Velayat and fully complied with the instructions of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, who said in his message: Martyrdom was the reward for the relentless efforts of Soleimani. As a matter of fact, he achieve a grand martyrdom when his pure blood was spilled by the most ruthless persons on the face of the earth.

The Leader visited the bereaved family and pointed out to them: “Martyr Soleimani's Jihad was a grand Jihad, and God granted him a grand martyrdom.”
