Arrogant US: Remember the Tabas miracle

“What! Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the hordes of the Elephant? Did he not cause their stratagems to go awry? And send against them flocks of birds; pelting them with stones of shale. Thus making them like chewed-up straw?”

What you heard and read was Surah number 105, that is, Surah Feel or Elephant of the holy Qur’an in which God Almighty informs us of the destructive fate of Abraha, the arrogant Abyssinian governor of Yemen, who in the year 570 AD, seated on an elephant, led a mighty force of warriors towards Mecca to destroy the holy Ka’ba, the supreme edifice of monotheism built by Adam, the Father of the human race at the dawn of creation, and rebuilt by Prophet Abraham for the worship of the One and Only Lord.

Abraha, proud of his elephantine force, brushed aside advice against violating the sanctity of the symbolic House of the Unseen but Omnipresent Creator, but the moment he reached the precincts of Mecca and was poised for the attack, a swarm of birds appeared in the sky with pebbles in their beaks and claws, which they miraculously dropped on the invaders, reducing most of the warriors and their mounts of horses, camels and elephants to something like chewed-up straw, while the rest fled helter-skelter.

The reason we remind our listeners of this miracle of the distant past is to draw their attention towards a similar miracle of our own modern times, when aircraft, tanks and missiles, have replaced war elephants, steeds, swords, and arrows.

Yet, when the leader of Global Arrogance, in Abraha-like manner, launched a surprise attack, with state-of-the-art military technology, intending to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran and to capture or kill the men of God, including the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the Almighty decreed destruction of the arrogant Americans, thereby teaching a lesson to all would-be aggressors of the fate that awaits those who try to mess up with a divine system of government.

Today, the 25^th of April is the anniversary of that memorable modern-day miracle, when in 1980, God Almighty decided to show a glimpse of His signs when He decreed particles of sand to rise as high as 10,000 feet in the air in the form of a dense white cloud, swirling, whirling, and twirling around an airborne US invasion force, which had stealthily descended upon a remote strip in the Iranian desert near Tabas in the dead of night for a surprise assault on Tehran, where with the help of turncoat Iranians, they would kill senior revolutionary leaders, overthrow the Islamic Republic, and free the 52 American spies detained by students following the path of Imam Khomeini (God bless him). 

The next morning, as an unaware Iranian nation woke up, it was a pleasant surprise to learn of the miracle in Tabas that forced America’s elite force to flee Iran with the remnants of their copters and planes, leaving behind the charred bodies of several dead soldiers, and wreckage of seven helicopters and a C-130 Hercules aircraft, that had crashed into each other, thanks to the sandstorm.

Officials and the general public prostrated to God Almighty in thanksgiving for saving the Islamic Republic from an elaborately hatched plot of the Great Satan which was in contact with anti-revolutionaries in government circles and had made sure that the Delta Force which had undergone intense training in similar conditions in the US, Egypt and Oman, for the precisely planned Operation Eagle Claw, would succeed and bring laurels to Washington.

As God Almighty says in ayah 54 of Surah Aal-e Imran of the holy Qur’an:

“They planned and God planned, and certainly God is the Best of planners.”

Without the least doubt the adherence of Iranian Muslims to the Holy Qur'an, to the Shari'ah of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny), and the teachings of his Immaculate Ahl al-Bayt in establishing the Islamic government and their constant prayers God to safeguard the sacred system, especially the invocations to Imam Reza (AS) – the Prophet's 8^th Infallible Heir – to intercede in the Divine Court, by the 44 pilgrims bound from Mashhad who were who taken hostage by the US invasion force that night when the pilgrim bus happened to traverse through that remote area, were answered by the Creator of the Universe Who is Witness over all things.

As God says in ayah 53 of Surah Fusselat of the holy Qur’an:

"Soon We shall show them Our signs in the horizons and in their own souls until it becomes clear to them that He is the Real. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is Witness to all things?"

The nose of the arrogantly ignorant US was again rubbed in the dust.

Today, 38 years later when much water has flowed under the bridges and Uncle Sam has agreed to a seemingly workable nuclear accord after seeing failure after failure of its plots against Islamic Iran, including the 8-year war it had imposed through Saddam, the assassination of several senior officials by the MKO, and the yet to be completely lifted illegal sanctions, the questions that arise are: Has Washington learned from its mistakes? Can Iran trust the US?

The answers are a big NO.

The hyena cannot change its stripes. By nature it is scavenger, devoid of any courage and integrity. It means the moment Iran drops guard, the rapacious beast would attack.

It is in view of these facts that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has cautioned Iranian officials against being duped by the US or to be awed by the threats and theatrics of the quixotic Donald Trump regarding the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) on Iran’s right to use peaceful nuclear energy.

The Abraha-like American arrogance is obvious. The US, without heeding the lessons of history, continues to arm to the hilt Arab reactionary regimes, increase its unlawful military presence in the region, openly supports the crimes against humanity of the illegal Zionist entity, attempts to destabilize Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan through the Godless Takfiri terrorists, and instructs the Wahhabi minority regime of Riyadh to bomb the hapless people of Yemen for the past year.

US lawlessness warrants that Iran should spare no efforts in strengthening its defences, including the range and precision of its missiles, with complete trust in God Almighty that He will never let down a grateful Shari'ah-abiding nation

No wonder, the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), had said with full confidence in divine help: The US cannot do a damn thing.

Any wrong move by the US will bring swift wrath from God, more destructive than what had befell them at Tabas 38 years ago.
