The Islamic Republic of Iran considers morality as one of the most important parameters in the development of defence industries. In view of this, in Iran's move to expand and bolster its defence ability, there are some restrictions which should be observed according to the religious and ideological principles.

Thus, production of Weapons of Mass Destruction (chemical, biological and nuclear weapons) is strictly prohibited in Iran. This shapes the foundation of the might of the Islamic Republic system.

Iran's progresses in the field of defence industries are the result of resistance against aggressors and incessant scientific effort. These have made Iran further secure and powerful vis-à-vis would-be threats. The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have attained extraordinary capability in the fields of hardware and software. The starting point for such a progress was the 8-year war that was imposed by the US through its minion Saddam. In those days, Iran was under sanctions in every field so that it couldn't import even barbed wire let alone guns and tanks!!!

Today, with reliance upon domestic abilities and maximal usage of the existing capacities, new missiles are unveiled by the armed forces in short intervals. These missiles and other weapons and military equipment manifest the power of the Islamic Republic and its determination to defend its ideals. Iran has succeeded to use the indigenous expertise and knowledge to design and make ballistic missiles. The US-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), in a report, mentions the Islamic Republic of Iran as a country that possesses the largest arsenal of ballistic missiles. The report makes it clear that, in spite of the western illegal sanctions against Iran, this country has successfully made the turbofan and turbojet engines which are essential parts for making aircrafts and drones.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has never intended to invade the borders of any country; but, it will not hesitate to use its military power whenever there is a threat against the Islamic Revolution. Today, the Iranian Armed Forces have reached such an extent of deterrence that they can defend the country through aggressive tactic. The Islamic Republic has founded its defensive strategy on the basis of missile manufacturing and now it is considered as the 4th missile power in the world. Part of this capability was put on display during the recent war-games of the Army. Promotion of the deterrence capability is the basic requisite of the Armed Forces in the 5th decade of the Islamic Revolution.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has reached the point that it can stand against the currents which intend to destabilize the region and make it insecure. Iran's indigenous missile capability has been developed in terms of precision, range and power. In view of many experts, the Islamic Republic is going to become a global power as it has already turned into a regional power.

Former US Secretary of State, Collin Powel, retorting to the rhetoric of the Saudi officials on Iran, had said, "I advise my Saudi friends to give up disputing with Iran; because this country can return Arabia to the pre-industrial era within a few hours."

In reaction to the rhetoric of three Saudi "specialists" who claimed that the Saudis could take the control of Iran's sky and aerial space, Powel said that if "Iran enters direct war with you, you won't have the time even to take the receiver and ask us for help. Even we have not made such a claim."

Following the wars and crises that were waged in the region by the US and its accomplices for the past few years, the Islamic Republic was forced to apply a very small part of its military capability and prowess beyond the borders to defend its interests. This has been intolerable for the US and its partners-in-crime. Now, they speak of the extension of Iran's borders up to the Mediterranean and are opposed to Iran's presence in Syria. But, the fact of the matter is that the United States is concerned of defeats against the steadfastness and sovereignty of the Iranian nation. The American officials are berserk with Iran's independence on the US. The American Secretary of State brazenly said on May 21, 2018 that Iran should end its ballistic missiles program.

Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the top countries in making missile, armoured, drone and radar systems and equipment. The strategy of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic is based on full self-sufficiency in production of every equipment.
