Today the 25th of the month of Shawwal is the day on which in the year 148 AH (corresponding to 765 AD), Imam Jafar Sadeq (pbuh) the 6th Infallible Heir of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny) was martyred in Medina through a fatal dose of poison.
