Welcome to the 13th episode of Heavenly Call on the occasion of the blessed fasting month of Ramadhan. We start with the special supplication of the 13th day:

 “O Allah, purify me this day from every defilement and filth; grant me therein patience over the events of Your ordaining; and dispose me therein toward piety and company of the pious; with Your assistance, O Comfort of the destitute.”

If you remember, yesterday we discussed upright words. An upright speech is embellished with truth and the use of beautiful words. Now let us see what a beautiful word is.

According to hadiths a beautiful and good word has these features: It shouldn’t be lengthy and boring. The vocabulary shouldn’t be annoying. It should be transparent and expressive.

The Prophet’s 4th Infallible Heir, Imam Zain al-Abedin (AS) says, “Good words increase sustenance, delay death, endear the individual in family and pave the path to paradise.”

In Ayah 53 of Surah Isra, God Almighty addresses Prophet Mohammad (SAWA): “Tell My servants to speak in a manner which is the best.”

This shows the high status of good and beautiful words. The holy Qur’an, in ayahs 17 to 18 of Surah az-Zumar, addition to emphasizing the speaking good words, stresses emulation of the best words of others,

 “…so give good news to My servants;

“Who listen to the word (of Allah) and follow the best [sense] of it. They are the ones whom Allah has guided, and it is they who possess intellect.”

In these ayahs when God says, ‘give good news’, it shows the importance of the matter. Moreover, the phrase ‘My servants’ indicates the worth of the believers in the sight of the Almighty Creator because of their attention to Divine Words and extracting from them the best of meaning through proper scrutiny on the basis of the teachings of the Prophet and his Infallible Household. The holy Qur’an describes three features of these people. First and foremost they respect the remarks of others and out of courtesy do not instantly or abruptly express their views. This shows that they have the capacity, patience, and endurance to hear words of wisdom. Another feature is that they evaluate the words they hear and derive from them the best of meaning in terms of logic. The last feature is that they are persons making the best use of the gift of intellect that God has granted mankind. The holy Qur’an gives the tidings that such people are guided by Allah.

In view of these facts, one of the outstanding characteristics of the devout servants of God is that they have no prejudice and whatever they follow it is on the basis of logic and the wonders of the intellect. In contrast to the true believers are devilish outfits such as the Takfiris, Daesh and the like, which are devoid of faith and indulge in crimes and acts of savagery that are totally unrelated to the benign spirit of the Islam.

These macabre elements are indeed the offspring of Satan and the illegitimate products of the American brand of Islam which, basically, has nothing to do whatsoever with pure Mohammedan Islam.
