US State Department makes baseless claims against Iran (3)

The US, within August 6 and August 9, 1945, in separate bomb attacks on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, massacred more than 200,000 people, while leaving thousands of others suffering from long-term injuries. The abominable crimes, resulting from US military interferences, still claim lives across the globe. Nonetheless, the US statesmen continue to accuse others of violation of human rights.

During the recent century, several cases of violation of human rights have been registered in the history of US crimes. The nuclear bombardment of the two cities of Japan in the year 1945 AD is one of the US heinous crimes. The 4th clause of the 2nd article of UN Charter puts emphasis on prohibition of usage of force against the territorial integrity of any other country.

The 1970 Declaration of Principles of Global Rights has forthrightly pointed out that non-interference in the internal affairs of countries is one of the principles of international rights, in accordance to UN Charter. It has stated that no government and/or group of governments maintain the right to directly and/or indirectly interfere in the internal and/or external affairs of another country, for any given reason.

However, it is observed that measures such as the US direct and indirect military invasion of different countries, such as Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria; and support for terrorist, and usurper regimes are evident in the US foreign policy. This takes place while any military offensive and interference of the US administration against another country and the US recurring threats in this domain are in violation of the principles of UN Charter and international rules and regulations.

Based on reports, in the aftermath of World War II, the US has taken measures for the ouster of 50 governments to this day. The US is the only state which has used atomic bomb, murdering more than 200,000 people.

The US has committed countess crimes in the contemporary wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya under the banner of the so-called support for human rights. What have been the outcomes of these wars?

In accordance to a report, released by the International Studies Institute of Brown University in the US; 100,000 people have been killed in Afghanistan as of the year 2001 to 2014. This report studies the fatalities of Afghan war, following the entry of international forces to this country from the year 2001 to 2014, in which the mission of these forces terminated.

Based on this study, the majority of Afghan civilian fatalities have been registered after the year 2007. Moreover, based on this report, the war fatalities in Pakistan have also been studied. Overall, in the two countries, 149,000 people have been killed and 162,000 others have sustained injuries. The findings of this report, which have been published in Western media, show that 26,270 civilians have lost their lives in war in Afghanistan; with 29,900 others sustaining injuries.

Meanwhile, Iraq war claimed more than a million civilian lives, and induced the homelessness of more than four million others, turning Iraq into the stronghold of Daesh terrorist outfit and other Takfiri-Zionist groups, which are backed by the US.

The former US president, George Bush, had previously claimed that satellite photos showed Iraq was rebuilding its nuclear sites.

However, this claim was nothing but sheer lies. The International Atomic Energy Agency doesn’t have a shred of evidence to prove its allegations.

The former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, in a televised interview with Euro News, has noted that Barack Obama was elected into office in order to end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, knowing that waging these wars was a huge mistake.

Meanwhile, the US and European regimes maintained double standards toward Libya. These regimes equipped the Libyan army and collaborated with the former Libyan regime for years, prior to toppling the former Libyan administration.

Amid the Libyan war, over 600,000 civilians fled this country, while 200,000 others were internally displaced. This status quo in Libya was brought about by the US and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

On January 19, 2012, the Palestine Center for Human Rights, and the International Humanitarian Assistance Consortium reported that NATO member states have bombarded civilian regions, while naming this tragic incident as a war crime. Libya is currently located en route the path that gun smugglers cover to provide arms for the Syrian rebels. The West could have not meddled in Libya in the year 2011, and could have provided political and economic assistance for Libyan people, instead of seeking to dominate this North African country’s oil sources.

In the recent years, release of reports on the massacre of civilians by US drones in a number of targeted countries, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia, has become an ordinary matter. The German publication, Focus, in an analysis has pointed out the violation of human rights throughout the US drones’ operations.

According to Economist weekly, as of the year 2005 to this date, the attacks launched by US drones have multiplied. In accordance to latest figures, more than 3,000 people have been killed throughout US drones’ operations, of which a thousand have been civilians.

Meanwhile, the revelations of torture of inmates in dreaded US-run jails, such as Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib Prisons continue to this day.

The US president, Barack Obama, in his visit to Cuba a few months ago claimed that the US doesn’t violate democratic principles. However, the ruthless conduct of American wardens in Guantanamo Prison proves otherwise. The fact of the matter is that the US is the main violator of human rights, and thus Obama has no right to speak about the state of human rights in other countries.

The closure of Guantanamo Bay Prison was included in the agenda of Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign.

This US-run prison was established in the year 2002, imprisoning terror suspects. In the year 2009, on the second day of presence of Barack Obama in the White House, he issued an instruction for the closure of Guantanamo Bay Prison. However, even at the waning days of Obama’s second presidential term, no measure has taken place for the closure of this dreaded detention center.

One of the other cases of violation of human rights by the US is this regime’s unwavering support for the illegal Zionist entity, and Daesh terrorist outfit.

Based on US Senate’s recent report, at least 26 people have been wrongly detained, interrogated, and tortured by the CIA. The CIA operatives torture inmates in US-run jails in different parts of the world.

The violent interrogation techniques of CIA operatives have taken their toll on the detainees’ mental and physical health. These crimes are partly the consequence of US bellicose and meddlesome policies in the world.
