  • Iranian cultural official: New alliances needed to resolve global crises, including Palestine

Pars Today – The Head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Communications Organization, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour stated that the failure of international institutions to resolve today’s global crises has become more evident than ever before. He emphasized the urgent need to form new and effective alliances to tackle pressing global issues — particularly the Palestinian cause.

Speaking on Thursday at the meeting of culture ministers from OIC member states in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia, Hojjatoleslam Imanipour cited the situation in Gaza as a clear example of this institutional failure. He said: “While the oppressed and resilient people of Gaza are facing genocide and blatant injustice, the inaction and incapacity of international organizations have only added to the suffering and outrage of free people around the world.” He stressed that it is crucially important for institutions like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take a more active role in addressing the Palestinian issue — the foremost issue in the Islamic world./ IRNA
