Leader: Trump lied about using power for peace

Pars Today – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stated on Saturday that some of the remarks made during the US president's recent visit to the region were not even worth responding to. However, he emphasized that one or two statements warranted attention. Referring specifically to Donald Trump’s comment that he wanted to “use power for peace,” the Leader said: “He lied.”

In a meeting with thousands of teachers and educators, Ayatollah Khamenei stated at the beginning of his remarks that the purpose of the gathering was to express appreciation for teachers and to honor their status. He emphasized that any expenditure in the field of education is, in fact, an investment in the country’s future. Referring to US President Donald Trump’s recent comments during a regional visit—claiming he aimed to "use power for peace"—the Leader dismissed the statement as a lie and asked: "When have he and US administrations ever used power for peace?"/ IRIB news agency
