  • German Parliament questions legality of Israeli and US strikes on Iran

Pars Today – The scientific service of the German Parliament (Bundestag) has expressed “serious doubts” regarding the legality of the Israeli and US strikes on Iran, challenging the legitimacy of the attacks in a stance differing from that of the German government.

The Bundestag’s scientific service issued a 54-page report at the request of Ulrich Thoden, a member of the Left Party in the German Parliament. According to a copy obtained by Germany’s DPA news agency, the report states that the overwhelming majority of international law experts believe the criteria under Article 51 of the UN Charter, which Israel cites to justify its right to self-defense, do not apply in the case of Iran.
