Pars Today- Criticizing the increase in defense and military spending by NATO member states, the Brazilian president stated: "Investing in war has always been easier than peace, and NATO is fueling an arms race."
Addressing the BRICS (the world's emerging economies) Summit, Lula da Silva stated that allocating 5 percent of GDP to military spending is easier than allocating the promised 0.7 percent to "official development assistance" (ODA). The Brazilian president also pointed to the "unprecedented collapse of multilateralism" in a world that is experiencing an "unprecedented number" of armed conflicts since World War II. /IRNA
