Iran among world’s top 20 tourist destinations
Pars Today – Iran’s deputy minister of tourism described the country’s rise to the list of the world’s top 20 tourist destinations as a new window for public diplomacy.
Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpey, citing the latest report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), noted that Iran had been placed among the top 20 global destinations prior to the 12-day war. He said this achievement reflects the maturity of Iran’s policy-making, the resilience of its tourism industry, and the opening of a new channel for public diplomacy through the official “Visit Iran” website.
The statistics cover the Iranian months of Dey, Bahman, and Esfand 1403 (January–March 2025), a period during which Iran, before the outbreak of the 12-day imposed war, recorded its best regional performance in attracting international tourists and became a model of stability, attractiveness, and destination diversity.
