Foreign Policy: Iran’s nuclear program is indestructible; US should act wisely
Pars Today – An American publication stated on Saturday that "the United States has only partially and temporarily set back the nuclear capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran," adding that what remains is diplomacy, which is more promising than military action.
In its report, Foreign Policy, authored by James Acton, co-director of the Nuclear Policy Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, emphasized that Washington's claims of a successful US military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities are hypocritical. The article stated that both the US and Israel have valid reasons to believe that most of Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU) survived the attack, and Tehran has likely retained the ability to further enrich and weaponize this material to produce a small number of nuclear weapons.
The American publication added that, as a result, repeated claims by US and Israeli officials that Iran’s enriched uranium is "buried under rubble" are misleading.
