Zionist plot to target Arbaeen pilgrims thwarted

Pars Today – The Governor of Karbala announced that a terrorist plot, designed by Daesh and the Zionist regime, to target Arbaeen pilgrims has been foiled.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Nasif Jassim Khatabi, Governor of Karbala, stated that the Shahin Intelligence Group in Karbala province, under the direct supervision of the Karbala Investigative Court, carried out a top secret and precise intelligence operation.

Khatabi said the operation led to the arrest of 22 terrorists who planned criminal acts including bombing explosives along pilgrims’ routes, targeting security forces and Hosseini mourning processions, and attempting to poison pilgrims at gathering places—especially in the southern part of the province.

The governor added that investigations and evidence showed the suspects were fully prepared to carry out their terrorist plans and that they confessed in court to their affiliation with Daesh.
