Pars Today – The Secretary of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations stated that the so-called Zangezur Corridor has geopolitical implications and the Islamic Republic of Iran will not easily overlook it.

On Saturday night, Ali Bagheri Kani, Secretary of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, spoke about the U.S. role as mediator in the issue between Armenia and Azerbaijan concerning the Zangezur Corridor at Iran’s northwestern borders. He said: “This certainly has geopolitical effects, which is why Iran has officially declared that this is not a simple matter to be ignored. It is important for Iran to be able to create conditions where stability, development, and progress prevail at the Islamic Republic’s borders, and where comprehensive interaction between Iran and its neighbors is facilitated. The fact that foreigners, especially the U.S., want to enter the region and, by interfering with the interests of regional countries, seek to secure their own interests, is unacceptable both to Iran and to the countries and nations of the region.” /IRNA
