Netanyahu Removes West Bank Annexation from Cabinet Agenda

Pars Today – Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has removed the issue of annexing the West Bank from the cabinet’s agenda.

The cabinet was scheduled on Thursday to discuss imposing sovereignty over large parts of the West Bank, but instead decided to focus on the worsening security situation in the Palestinian territories.

On August 22, 2025, the Israeli regime approved a settlement expansion plan in the E1 area east of al-Quds, aimed at “undermining the territorial continuity of the West Bank” and “preventing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.” The plan, if implemented, would completely sever the northern West Bank from the south and add 3,400 new housing units for settlers.
