Iraqi official: U.S.-led coalition forces to withdraw from Baghdad and Anbar this month

Pars Today – The security advisor to Iraq’s Prime Minister announced that the mission of the U.S.-led international coalition forces in Baghdad and Anbar Province will conclude during September.

In an interview with Iraq’s state news agency (INA), Hussein Alawi, security advisor to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, confirmed the upcoming end of the coalition’s presence in the two regions.

Alawi stressed that since 2022, the Iraqi government has pursued a clear path to securing the country and maintaining stability. He added that the Prime Minister, as commander-in-chief of the armed forces, remains committed to rebuilding and expanding the Iraqi army, enhancing its performance, and upgrading its military equipment.
