Pars Today – California’s Democratic Governor condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s military demonstration, which led to the closure of a major highway, calling it a sign of “prioritizing pride over responsibility.”
Governor Gavin Newsom stated that the display, which included live artillery fire over the interstate near Camp Pendleton, was a “pointless show of power,” “dangerous,” and “unnecessary.”
Newsom added, “Using the military to intimidate opponents is not power; it is recklessness.”
Criticism of Trump comes as the event coincided with nationwide “No to Monarchy” protests. Newsom urged demonstrators to view these marches as a “declaration of independence against tyranny.” The event highlights escalating tensions between the White House and California’s state government. /ISNA
