Pars Today — A Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced that Russian diplomats are carrying out “very precise and serious” preparations for a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart, Donald Trump.
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirmed that a contact between Putin and Trump has taken place and reviewed by the Russian government. Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin aide, said that on October 16, Putin and Trump spoke by phone, after which the U.S. president stated that they had agreed to meet soon in Budapest, Hungary.
Zakharova added that following these calls, senior Russian and Hungarian diplomats have conducted negotiations to prepare for the leaders’ meeting, with work also progressing through diplomatic channels at various levels. /IRIB News Agency
