Religious processions and symbolic marches were held across different cities in Iran including capital city of Tehran marking Arba’een on Saturday.
Arba’een, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) grandson and the third infallible successor of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA).
Each year, a huge crowd of people flock to the holy city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.
