Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran to hold talks with the country’s officials on a range of issues.
According to Press TV, Grabar-Kitarovic is due in Tehran next week to discuss with Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani, the expansion of relations as well as bilateral cooperation on regional and international issues.
A large business delegation led by the Croatian Chamber of Economy is accompanying Grabar-Kitarovic during her visit to Iran.
Representatives and officials of about 50 Croatian companies are also expected to send their representatives to join the president on the trip.
The visit by the Croatian president to Iran comes against the backdrop of the lifting of sanctions against Tehran following the implementation of a historic agreement over its nuclear program, dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Several officials and presidents from different countries, including European states, have visited Iran following the implementation of the JCPOA and the removal of embargoes against Tehran.
