Iran urges enhancement of ties with Qatar

In a congratulatory message to the emir of Qatar, Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi called for the expansion of the political, economic and cultural relations between Tehran and Doha.

According to Tasnim news agency, in his message to Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Saturday, President Raeisi congratulated the Qatari emir and the Arab country’s nation on its National Day.

Expressing satisfaction with the “friendly ties” between the two neighbors, the Iranian president stressed the need for the promotion of political, economic and cultural relations.

He also hoped that reliance on the mutual capacities and active exploitation of the existing capabilities would help Iran and Qatar fulfill the interests of the two nations.

The Iranian president further wished the Qatari emir health and success and the people of Qatar prosperity.

Qatar celebrates its National Day on December 18, in commemoration of its unification back in 1878.
