IRGC forces continue opertion to root out the so-called Democrat terrorists in northwestern Iran
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, IRGC's Public Relations Department announced that the IRGC forces have gunned down a number of the terrorists of the so-called Democrat Group in clashes near the city of Mahabad in West Azarbaijan Province.
According to Fars News Agency, the clashes occurred between the IRGC and the counterrevolutionary armed group, the Democrat, in Sarvabad border region near Mahabad city.
The clashes broke out near the village of Bengovin in the outskirts of Mahabad in northwestern Iran.
The IRGC public relations did not mention the exact number of the Democrat terrorists killed in Mahabad clashes.
"A number of terrorists of the Democrat Grouplet who were in Bengovin village near Mahabad city to conduct terrorist activities were identified by IRGC forces and they were, hence, engaged in clashes,” an IRGC member of Mahabad said earlier today.
He noted that the clashes were underway near Bengovin village without mentioning the number of casualties or any other details.
On Monday, the Iranian intelligence ministry announced that the country's security forces have defused several suicide and terrorist attacks in different provinces, including Tehran.
